Was a three-year letterwinner at Memorial High School... named first-team all-Greater Houston as a sophomore, junior and senior... selected as a first-team all-district outfield performer twice... also named first-team all-district as a catcher... selected as the Spring Branch Optimist Club Offensive Player of the Year... earned second-team all-state accolades as a junior... was a THSBCA All-American as a senior... also a stand-out football player.
