Athletic camps held on or at TCU facilities and advertised on the website as a public service are not an official part of TCU Athletics or the University. These camps are owned and operated by independent contractors and are neither sponsored by nor supervised by TCU. All profits and liabilities related to any camp are the sole responsibility of the contractor.

Camps

  • All overnight campers receive a camp ball and camp T-shirt.
  • Food is included in the cost for the Overnight Camps and "Day Camp"

All-Skills Camp
All-Skills Camp is the largest and most popular camp at TCU and one of the few overnight camps in the Metroplex. The All-Skills Camps are specially designed to meet the needs of athletes entering grades 6-12. The all-skills camps focus on all aspects of the game with the emphasis on fundamentals. Skill development is emphasized during instruction on the following areas: serving, serve receiving, forearm passing, setting, attacking, defense and blocking. The All-Skills camp has a spot for everyone, campers are skill tested and placed into groups of similar age and ability.

Check in is 8am-9am on the first day, Camp ends at noon on the last day.

Commuter campers - Check in 8-9am on the first day at the dorms and end at 9pm, Saturday 9am to 9pm and Sunday 9am to noon. Commuters receive lunch and dinner

Overnight campers - Check in at the dorms from 8-9am on the first day and end the last day at noon. Overnighters will receive room and three meals a day.

6th grade - 12th grade

COLLEGE PREP CAMP

College Prep Camp is designed for athletes looking to receive intense training to prepare for the high school season and take their game to the next level. The College Prep Camp is our most intense camp at TCU and one of the only elite overnight camps in the Metropolis. If you are considering playing volleyball at the college level, this is the camp for you.

  • July 15-17

College Prep Check in 8am-9am on Thursday, Camp ends at noon on Saturday.

Commuter campers - Check in Thursday 8-9am at the dorms. Pick up and drop off after that will be at the rec gym. Thurs 9 pm. Friday 9am - 9pm. Saturday 9am - noon. Commuters will receive lunch+dinner each day.

Overnight campers - Check in Thursday 8-9am and ends Saturday at noon. Overnighters will receive room and three square meals a day.

9th grade - 12th grade

Evening Camp

New in 2010 Evening camp is a 3 day camp from 6-8pm at night, it is a shorter version of Day Camp and the schedule is straight forward. We will do 1 hour of skill building stations and 1 hour of competition each night.

Day Camp

Day Camp is a 3-day camp from 9am-4pm and has a spot for everyone. The day camps focus on all aspects of the game with the emphasis on fundamentals. The day camp has a spot for everyone, campers are skill tested and placed into groups of similar age and ability.

Intense Day Camp

Intense Day Camp is a 3-day camp from 9am-4pm. Intense Day Camp is designed for players that want intense training in a day camp. The schedule is more demanding and the pace of camp is faster. For club and advanced players, Intense Day Camp is the camp for you.

Clinics

All Clinic athletes receive a camp T-shirt but do not receive a TCU Volleyball.

Serving Clinics

Serving is a very important part of volleyball and the only skill that is controlled by the player as an individual. Whether you are a young player looking to improve your serving mechanics or an advanced player looking to perfect the jump serve, this is the clinic for you!!!

  • 4th grade to 12th grade

Defense and Hitters/Setters Clinics

The clinics focus on specific skills. These sessions focus specifically on improving hitting, setting, serving, defense, blocking and passing techniques.

Tad Pole Camp and Clinics

Tad Pole Clinics - 1 hr clinics for youngsters 4-9 years old. We will focus on very basic volleyball skill, team building, interacting with others, developing positive attitudes and basic athletic fundamentals in a fun and relaxing atmosphere.

Tad Pole Camp - A 2-day camp, 2 hours each day for youngsters 4-9 years old. We will focus on very basic volleyball skill, team building, interacting with others, developing positive attitudes and basic athletic fundamentals in a fun and relaxing atmosphere.

Who are the TCU Volleyball Camp coaches?
TCU Head Coach Prentice Lewis, Associate Head Coach Jason Tanaka, Assistant Coach Linda Hampton and Camp Director Holly Clay set up the training sessions and bring in coaches from around the country.

Is there a day camp option?
Yes, we have half-day clinics, a 9-4 Day Camp and a 9am to 9pm commuter rate for our overnight camps.

Will my child need bed linens and toiletries?
Yes, all campers will need bed linens and a pillow.

Will my child be supervised in the dorm?
Yes! Every camper will be assigned to a counselor. The Prentice Lewis Volleyball Camp staff will be housed in the dorms as well.

What is the penalty for a lost room key?
There is a $75 fee for a lost key.

How much spending money should I send with my camper?
The only money that campers need is for snacks and TCU Volleyball gear. All meals are paid for through registration fees, however most campers enjoy an evening snack.

How many campers will there be per room?
The rooms are 2-person rooms; depending on the dorm we occasionally can accommodate groups of 3.

Will my child be matched with her roommate preference?
We will do our best to accommodate roommate preferences. Please make sure that your preference is listed.

Things to bring to Camp

  • Alarm clock
  • Linens, a blanket and a pillow
  • Plenty of comfortable shorts and t-shirts
  • Towels, washcloths and soap
  • Socks and playing shoes (NO short socks!!)
  • Personal toiletries

Team Camp

Team Camp is designed for high school teams to train with and compete against other schools. There will be instruction and skill sessions each day and approximately half of the time will be spent playing matches against other teams. We will have divisions for JV and Varsity teams. We are excited to offer the opportunity for local high school programs to prepare for the upcoming season. This is a great opportunity to bond with your team and get a head start on the season. Teams must have a minimum of 7 players.

Cost

    Commuter - $2300 per team of 7 to 10 players, and $200 for each additional player
    Overnight - $2800 per team of 7 to 10 players, and $250 for each additional player

Note: Payment must be made as a team and a deposit of $500 is due with registration.
