TCU MATCH NOTES // KU MATCH NOTES
FORT WORTH - TCU's women's volleyball team plays one of its final two matches at home this season Saturday when it hosts No. 22 Kansas at the University Recreation Center. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
The Horned Frogs are 14-12 overall and 3-10 in Big 12 play. The Jayhawks are 22-6 and sit in third place in the Big 12 standings at 10-4. TCU dropped a 3-0 decision to Baylor in its last match, while KU knocked off Oklahoma, 3-0.
In the first meeting of 2012 between the two schools, Kansas picked up a 3-1 (25-21, 25-20, 22-25, 25-19) win in Lawrence. Three Frogs (Mattie Burleson, Stephanie Holland and Sloane Sunstrum) had 10 kills each. Caroline Jarmoc led the Jayhawks with 23 kills.
Junior Yvonne Igodan leads the Frogs at 3.31 kills per set and with an attack percentage of .330 Sophomore Mattie Burleson is TCU's block leader at 1.25 per set, while senior Megan Munce headlines the Frogs and is third in the Big 12 at 0.42 aces per set. Senior libero Meghan Horio is averaging 3.83 digs per set this season.

LAST TIME OUT: BAYLOR 3, TCU 0
TCU's volleyball team fell in three sets (25-21, 25-20, 25-21) to Baylor on Wednesday evening in front of 1,378 fans inside the TCU University Recreation Center. The Horned Frogs slipped to 14-12 and 3-10 in the Big 12 with the loss, while Baylor improved to 19-10 and 6-8. For the second-straight match against the Bears, freshman Sutton Sunstrum led the Frogs in digs.
Igodan led the Frogs in kills for the third-straight match, totaling eight on 24 attacks. Sloane Sunstrum added seven kills and 11 digs, while Sutton Sunstrum grabbed 16 digs to go along with three kills.
TCU ALL-TIME VERSUS KANSAS
TCU and Kansas are meeting for the second time this season and third time in the history of the two programs.
*The all-time series sits at 1-1 after KU's 3-1 win in Lawrence on Oct. 20 of this year. TCU won 3-2 on Sept. 10, 1999, the first meeting between the two schools.
*Kansas is visiting Fort Worth for the first time after both of the first two meetings were in Lawrence.
*The Jayhawks are the sixth team this season to visit the URC for the first time.
FACING THE RANKED
After getting a two-match hiatus in the tough Big 12, TCU is facing a ranked opponent for the ninth time this season.
*TCU is 5-39 all-time against ranked opponents, with all five of those wins coming with Prentice Lewis as head coach. With Lewis at the helm, the Frogs are 5-30 against foes in the top-25.
*Before this season, the most ranked opponents TCU had played in one season was five in 2006. Kansas is the last team on TCU's schedule currently in the top 25.
*The Horned Frogs last defeated a ranked team last season when they knocked off No. 23 Colorado State, 3-2. A 3-1 win over No. 13 CSU in 2008 marks the highest-ranked opponent TCU has ever beaten.
*Four Big 12 teams are currently in the AVCA top-25 and five are ranked among the top 28 in the NCAA RPI. Kansas is seventh in the RPI.
IGODAN EARNS SECOND BIG 12 HONOR
TCU junior middle blocker Yvonne Igodan earned her second Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week honor this week after tallying 30 kills in two matches at Texas Tech and Kansas State.
*Igodan posted a .540 hitting percentage for the week, including a career-high .722 hitting percentage at Kansas State.
*Her 17 kills at Texas Tech were the fourth-most in the Big 12 this season for a three-set match.
*Igodan's .722 attack percentage is the second-best individual mark in the league and highest in a match featuring two Big 12 teams.
*She was also named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 4, becoming the first TCU athlete in any sport to earn a weekly Big 12 accolade.
ACADEMIC ALL-BIG 12 FROGS
All four of TCU's seniors were named to the Academic All-Big 12 Volleyball team this week, with all of them earning spots on the first team (grade point averages better than 3.20).
*Emily Kirby, Megan Munce, Meghan Horio and Sloane Sunstrum were all honored for their work in the classroom.
*To be eligible for selection, the student-athletes must have participated in at least 60 percent of their team's games and be in at least their second year at the institution. Those with a GPA of at least 3.20 earned spots on the first team.
*Horio and Sunstrum were honored for their academic work for the third-straight year, while Munce and Kirby earned academic all-conference accolades for the second-straight season.
