FORT WORTH, Texas - The Horned Frog Volleyball team completed the second-most successful season in school history in 2007, finishing with an overall record of 22-12 on the season. The 22 victories rank second all-time behind the 2003 team that tallied 23. It also marked the fourth winning season in the last five seasons and their third 20+ win season in school history. All of these feats have come under the direction of Head Coach Prentice Lewis.

Even more important was their fourth-place finish in the Mountain West Conference with a 9-7 mark that included three road victories and a 6-2 mark at home.

TCU enjoyed its home cooking this season, setting a new record with 13 home wins in 2007, breaking the old mark of 12 set a year ago. The 13 wins included 10 straight from September 5 through October 3.

For the second straight season, the Frogs stormed out to a record-breaking start with just one loss in its first 11 matches. That stretch included three straight tournament titles, including the Maine Tournament crown as well as two straight home tourney crowns.

After a minor hiccup in Fort Collins to open up conference play, the Horned Frogs returned to their winning ways, rattling off five straight wins. Included in those five wins were back-to-back league victories over Wyoming and Air Force to move them to 2-1 in MWC play.

A four-game losing streak followed before an unbelievable comeback in Salt Lake City got the Frogs back on the right foot. Trailing 2-0 to traditional league power, Utah, the Frogs stormed back to defeat the Utes 3-2 on their home court. In that match, history was made as Calli Corley became the Frogs all-time leader in career digs.

The Frogs earned their second MWC road win, completing the season sweep at Air Force on October 18. Following a brief two-game skid, the Frogs responded with an exciting 3-2 win over New Mexico in Fort Worth that kept them in the top half of the conference standings.

On November 2, the Frogs completed its second sweep of an MWC opponent in 2007 with a 3-0 drubbing of the Utes at the University Rec Center. A 3-1 victory at San Diego State gave the Frogs their third sweep of the season.

Perhaps the defining moment of the season came on November 15 when the Frogs squared off against No. 17 Colorado State on Senior Night in Fort Worth. The Frogs proved they were equal to the task as they rallied from a 2-1 deficit to post a thrilling 3-2 win.

Following the victory, the Frogs honored three very special ladies for their stellar careers in the Purple and White. Corley, Loren Barry and LeMeita Smith left an indelible mark on the volleyball program as well on the record books as their names litter the leader boards.

Sadly the season came to an end with a first-round loss to Utah in the MWC Postseason Tournament.
