Final Stats

FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU Horned Frogs saw their five-game winning streak come to an end as they fell in five to Ole Miss (30-26, 31-33, 28-30, 30-26, 9-15). Four different Frogs recorded double-digits in kills with senior Anna Vaughn leading the way with 18 kills. The Frogs and the Rebels were evenly matched throughout the game as each team hit .250 and tallied seven service aces.

A back-and-forth affair greeted both teams as each game was played with neither team jumping out to a big lead. TCU held the biggest lead of the match in its game four victory as they led 25-18 in a game they eventually won 30-26. Katie Kramer was named the tournament MVP and played the part in the Rebels victory as she recorded 28 kills.

The Frogs took game one by a 30-26 score as they hit at a .362 clip in the game. Emily Allen, Lauren Otto and Anna Vaughn all posted five kills in the game. Two Vaughn services aces aided the Frog attack. An Otto kill secured the game one win for TCU.

The Rebels evened things up at one with a 33-31 victory in a highly-contested match. The Frogs looked poised to win the game as they took a 28-26 lead on a Nirelle Hampton service ace, but the Rebels responded with three straight points off the serve of Tara Langley. The battle continued until an Emily Jones kill sealed the Rebels game two win.

Out of the intermission, the battle continued. Things were all tied up at 10 apiece before the Frogs opened up a 16-13 lead. Again the Rebels would climb back into the match and eventually the score knotted up at 23. Ole Miss closed out the match on a 7-5 run and got the game three victory on a Frog attack error.

TCU took control of game four after falling behind 12-9. A 5-1 run behind the serving of Allen and Otto gave the Frogs a 20-18 lead. Four straight attack errors by the Rebels pushed the Frogs lead out to 25-19 and TCU forced a game five as Ole Miss committed its 17th error of the game, giving TCU the 30-26 win.

Game five was controlled by the Rebels as they stormed out to a 7-1 lead behind the serving of Lauren Moffett. TCU got as close to 8-6, but couldn't get over the hump. A Jaclyn Toohey kill gave Ole Miss the 15-9 win.

The Frogs fall to 10-2 on the season. They will continue the home stand on Wednesday when they host Texas State at 7 p.m. in the University Rec Center.
