FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU volleyball team improved to 10-1, setting a new mark for the best start to a season, with a 3-0 victory (30-18, 30-28, 30-19). Kourtney Edwards set a career-high with 10 kills in the match, while Anna Vaughn led all hitters with 12 kills.

Centenary grabbed the early 9-6 lead but the Frogs had an answer in Nirelle Hampton as she served the Frogs to an 11-10 lead with help from kills by LeMeita Smith and Hampton. Calli Corley kept the strong serving going as she sent the Frogs on another 4-0 run, pushing the Frog lead to 17-12. Centenary committed 10 errors in the match and hit just .074 as TCU took the 30-18 game one win. Meanwhile, the Frogs hit a blistering .514 in the game. Vaughn pitched in five kills, while Smith and Emily Allen dropped in four.

Game two was a back-and-forth affair as neither team could get a feel of comfort in the match. Centenary kept the match close when it looked like the Frogs would run away. Vaughn served up an ace, giving TCU the 9-5 advantage, but the Ladies battled back to briefly take a 12-11 lead. An Edwards' kill knotted the game at 12 and the Frogs rolled from there. Edwards dumped in five kills to lead all hitters in the game and Corley dug seven balls to keep the Frog rallies alive. Three service aces helped the Frogs to the 30-28 victory and the 2-0 match lead.

Again Centenary took the early lead in game three, but serving was the name of the game for the Frogs as Vaughn, Hampton and Loren Barry sparked Frog rallies. With the game knotted at 10 apiece, Smith slammed the ball to the back court to give the Frogs the 11-10 lead and Hampton extended the lead to 13-11. Barry dropped in back-to-back aces to push the lead to 19-12. The Ladies were unable to pull any closer and Vaughn sealed the Frog victory with her 12th kill of the match to give the Frogs the 30-19 victory in game three.

TCU (10-1) will wrap up play in the TCU Nike/LaQuinta Invitational at 4 p.m. versus Ole Miss.
