Hampton joined the TCU volleyball program in 2005 with coaching experience from every level of competition, having coached at the high school, club, national and collegiate levels. Hampton came to TCU after a one-year stint as an assistant coach at the University of North Texas. Her responsibilities with the Mean Green included marketing, match scouting and preparation as well as assisting with on-court development. Prior to North Texas, Hampton spent two years as an assistant coach at Florida International University where she served as the recruiting coordinator. A native of Gainesville, Fla., Hampton began her coaching career as a volunteer at the local Girl's Club. In 1999, she was named the head coach at her alma mater, P.K. Yonge Developmental Research School with the University of Florida. During her three years as head coach, P.K. Yonge posted three consecutive state final four appearances, including the 2000 Florida State Championship. Hampton was also named Gainesville Sun All-Area Coach of the Year in 1999 and 2000 and received the Dairy Farmer's Class 2A State Coach of the Year in 2000. Hampton's off-seasons keep her busy, as she has spent the past seven summers working with the USA Olympic Volleyball Program, where she coaches with various development camps all over the country. This includes the USA High Performance Program, where she leads the nation's top youth in the 15-and-under age group. Her various camp experiences include the University of Texas, University of Florida, UCLA and TCU. Hampton is the older sister of TCU sophomore setter Nirelle Hampton and University of Florida outside hitter Marcie Hampton. HAMPTON'S COACHING CAREER TCU, Assistant Coach 2005-present |
