Nov. 5, 2009

FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU women's tennis team will wrap-up the 2009 fall schedule this weekend at the UNC-Kitty Harrison Invitational in Winston-Salem, N.C. The Horned Frogs will have the opportunity to take on players from Duke, Georgia Tech, Minnesota, North Carolina State, Princeton and Virginia Tech.

The Frogs will have four players participating in the event; juniors Maria Babanova, Idunn Hertzberg, Katariina Tuohimaa and sophomore Kayla Duncan. There will be no team scoring.

Duncan has been a spark plug for the Frogs this fall, pacing the squad with a 12-4 singles record, highlighted by a 5-4 mark against nationally-ranked opponents. The sophomore returns to her home town after earning TCU Scholar-Athlete of the Month honors for October.

TCU will resume action this spring on Jan. 29 in Knoxville, Tenn., as part of the ITA Kickoff Weekend. The Frogs will face a tough dual match schedule, playing 16 NCAA qualifiers from 2009. All but one non-conference foe was in the NCAA tournament last season.

Results from the tournament will be posted following the conclusion of each day at GoFrogs.com, the official Web site of TCU Athletics.
