Women's Tennis Team in Action at Texas A&M
Nov. 1, 2002 COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The TCU Women's Tennis Team competed against Washington State in their first day of action at the Texas A&M Round Robin Tournament at the Texas A&M Tennis Center. The Frogs will meet Tulane on Saturday morning beginning at 9:30 a.m., then match-up with the host Aggies on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. Each meeting is being played in the format of four doubles matches and eight singles matches with no team scores being kept. The Frogs were unable to capture a doubles win against Washington State. However, junior Saber Pierce and sophomore Karla Mancinas made a run at the 46th-ranked duo of Lorena Arias and Chris Martinez, falling by a 9-7 count. The Frogs' no. 1 duo of senior Rosa Perez and junior Paty Aburto did not compete. Senior Brenna Shackelford picked up the lone singles win for TCU on Friday as she defeated Orsi Sallai in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2. Mancinas lost in three-sets to Nora Gaal at the no. 2 spot, 6-7, 6-2, 6-3. All other Frogs fell in two sets. Complete results can be found below.
