Denti, Sundaram, Crespo Named Athletes of the Week

Crespo led the Horned Frogs with two wins in the breaststroke in South Bend, Ind., facing Notre Dame, Michigan, and Oakland. The Panama City, Panama, native finished with a time of 54.80 in the 100-breast, as well as a 2:03.10 performance in the 200-breast.
Crespo also had a great showing in the 2011 Pan-American games in Guadalajara, Mexico. He finished second in his preliminary heat on Sunday to qualify for the "A" final before coming back that night to record a time of 1:03.08 in the finals to take fifth-place honors. On Tuesday, Crespo won the B-final in the 200-meter breaststroke in 2:20.18 for a ninth-place overall finish. He improved his time from the prelims, barely missing out on the A-final with a time of 2:20.90.
Denti and Sundaram overcame a fourth-seed to win the doubles title at the HEB Baylor Invitational on Sunday. The duo dropped Baylor's Nicole Kosakowski and Jordaan Sanford, 8-2, in the finals. Denti and Sundaram also knocked off opponents from the likes of Baylor, UTA, and Texas A&M to reach the championship.
The Frogs hit the courts again on Friday as they host the USTA/ITA Texas Regionals at Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.
