FORT WORTH - TCU's women's tennis team opens play at the Riveria/ITA Women's All-American Championships this weekend in Pacific Palisades, Calif.
TCU sophomore Simona Parajova opens play Saturday in the prequalifying stages of the singles bracket. The Zvolen, Slovakia, native is ranked No. 87 in the ITA preseason singles rankings. Sophomore Stefanie Tan, at No. 56 in the preseason rankings, is entered in the qualifying draw.
The top Horned Frogs doubles duo, Millie Nichols and Olivia Smith, were able to skip qualifying and are entered in the doubles main draw. The tandem is ranked No. 16 in the ITA preseason doubles rankings and qualified for the NCAA doubles championship a year ago.
Newcomer Monika Sirilova and Parajova are set to compete in the prequalifying doubles draw.
Prequalifying for singles doubles is at UCLA on Sept. 29 and 30. Qualifying is Oct. 2 and 3 at the Riveria Tennis Club, while the main draw runs Oct. 4-7 at Riveria Tennis Club.
