Besovic, Cetnik advance in Matamoros
Sept. 15, 2005 MATAMOROS, Mexico -- TCU's Ana Cetnik and Helena Besovic each picked up a singles victory during the past two days at an International Tennis Federation event in Matamoros, Mexico. Cetnik upended Jessica Williams in straight sets, 6-0, 6-2, on Tuesday, while Besovic was a 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 winner over Sayaka Yoshino on Wednesday. In the doubles, Cetnik played with former collegiate partner Story Tweedie-Yates to post a 6-0, 6-3 triumph against Chrissie Seredni and Williams. Besovic teamed up with Horned Frog freshman Anna Sydorska for doubles and suffered a 6-2, 7-6(5) setback to Erika Clarke and Lorena Arias. Sydorska was defeated in singles by Paula Zabala, who is ranked No. 504 in the world, by a 6-4, 6-4 count.
