FORT WORTH, Texas - Three TCU women's tennis players appeared in the first preseason Fila/ITA collegiate tennis rankings released on Friday. Macall Harkins, Anna Sydorska and Nina Munch-Soegaard are ranked in singles play, while the doubles team of Harkins and Sydorska also entered the poll.

Harkins, a junior from Palos Verdes, Calif., leads the Frogs in the singles ranking at No. 61 despite sitting out last season due to transfer rules. Harkins had an impressive summer, going 13-4 overall in pro circuit events, as well as defeating No.15 Jessica Nguyen in a wildcard event in Carson, Calif. Harkins played the last two years at the University of Illinois, finishing the 2006 season ranked No. 71.

Sydorska follows Harkins at No. 62 in the singles poll after earning All-Mountain West Conference honors while recording an 18-9 dual singles record last season. The Lviv, Ukraine, native reached as high as No. 54 in the singles poll in 2007 and finished the year ranked No. 91 in the country.

Munch-Soegaard enters the preseason singles ranking at No. 78. The Amarillo, Texas, product was named the Mountain West Conference Freshman of the Year and led the team with 21 dual wins playing at the top three singles positions last season. Munch-Soegaard reached as high as No. 60 in the singles poll a year ago, and finished out the season at No. 109.

The doubles team of Harkins and Sydorska debuts at No. 14 in the fall preseason doubles poll. Harkins played at the top doubles position for Illinois in 2006, while Sydorska earned All-America honors with partner Ana Cetnik last season. Sydorska ended the 2006-07 season with 34 doubles victories, tying for second all-time at TCU, and the duo finished ranked No. 3 in the nation.
