Munch-Soegaard and Besovic advance to doubles finals

EVANSVILLE, Ind. - TCU women's tennis player Nina Munch-Soegaard fell in the semifinals of the Fifth Third Classic of Evansville on Saturday. Munch-Soegaard also advanced to the finals in doubles play with former TCU standout Helena Besovic.

Munch-Soegaard, a native of Amarillo, Texas, fell to No. 5 Kimberly Couts 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 in the semifinals. Munch-Soegaard made her first semifinal appearance in the pro circuit this summer after winning three matches.

Munch-Soegaard and Besovic advanced to the doubles final after defeating Nadja Gilchrist and Allie Will 4-6, 6-1, 6-3. The duo's run fell short with a 6-1, 3-6, 6-2 loss to Jenna Long and Anna Lubinsky. Munch-Soegaard and Besovic have now made the doubles final round three times this summer, earning the title twice.
