Fort Worth, Texas - Former TCU women's tennis player Story Tweedie-Yates upset top-seeded Kristen Schlukebir of the United States today to advance to the singles final of the $10,000 Baylor Medical Center at Southwest Fort Worth Pro Tennis Classic. It is the second professional final for Tweedie-Yates, as she won the Matamoros Tournament last September.

Tweedie-Yates, who is from Redmond, Wash., needed three sets and the tiebreaker to eliminate the top-seeded Schlukebir. The ITA All-American, who is playing in her first event as a professional, took the first set with ease 6-2, but Schlukebir answered to take the second 6-1. In the decisive set, Tweedie-Yates jumped out to a 4-2 lead, but Schlukebir fought back to push the match into the tiebreaker, where Tweedie-Yates won 7-2.

In Sunday's final, Tweedie-Yates will face off against Tara Snyder of the United States. Snyder, who is also playing in the doubles final, topped No. 7 seed Andrea Remynse in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1. Snyder has been ranked as high as 33rd in the world in her career and has beaten players such as Maria Sharapova and Martina Hingis.
