FORT WORTH, Texas - The 25th-ranked TCU women's tennis team added a nationally ranked player to the fold on Thursday. Story Tweedie-Yates, a junior from Redmond, Wash., will transfer to the program beginning with the fall 2004 season after playing three seasons for the top-ranked Stanford Cardinal.

Tweedie-Yates, currently ranked No. 78 in the ITA's singles poll, tallied an 11-4 singles mark this year, including a perfect 5-0 record in dual matches. In October, she downed then-No. 7 Claire Carter of Washington, 6-0, 6-4, in the Round of 32 at the Riviera/ITA All-American. Tweedie-Yates, along with doubles partner Theresa Logar, captured the Pac-10 Invitational doubles championship.

The Frogs who advanced to the NCAA Regionals earlier this month will return eight players next season. Gone from the squad will be seniors Paty Aburto, Saber Pierce and Rebecca Reynolds who completed their eligibility.
