COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - TCU women's tennis head coach Jefferson Hammond was named the Mountain West Conference Coach of the Year on Wednesday, while four Horned Frogs were named to the All-MWC Singles Team to lead all schools.

In his second year at the helm, Hammond has led the Frogs to an 18-4 overall record and a perfect 8-0 mark in conference play. The Frogs won the MWC regular season title outright after posting dominating wins over three ranked opponents to end league play. TCU is currently ranked No. 23 nationally, marking the eighth consecutive week inside the top 25.

Macall Harkins, Nina Munch-Soegaard, Anna Sydorska and Katariina Tuohimaa all earned all-conference singles honors.

Harkins, a junior from Palos Verdes, Calif., tallied a 14-6 record this spring and a 7-0 mark in MWC play in her first season as a Horned Frog. Harkins has won eight consecutive matches and 12 of the last 13 contests at the top three positions.

Munch-Soegaard earned her second consecutive all-conference selection after going 14-7 overall and 5-2 in conference play at the top singles position this spring. The TCU sophomore has defeated five ranked opponents this season. Munch-Soegaard was named the MWC Freshman of the Year last season.

Sydorska, a native of Lviv, Ukraine, was named to the all-conference singles team for the third consecutive season. Sydorska posted an overall mark of 15-5 this season at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions and a perfect 7-0 record in conference play.

Tuohimaa earned the all-conference singles recognition after leading the Frogs in her first collegiate season with an 18-4 dual-match record. Tuohimaa, a native of Helsinki, Finland, posted a 7-1 record during the MWC regular season.

The doubles teams of Harkins and Sydorska and Tuohimaa and Idunn Hertzberg were also earned recognition on Wednesday.

Harkins and Sydorska posted a record of 13-5 at the top doubles position this spring and are currently ranked No. 16 nationally. The duo, which advanced to the semifinals at the National Indoor Championships last fall, defeated four ranked opponents during the spring season. Sydorska has also earned a spot on the All-MWC Doubles Team all three years at TCU.

The freshmen tandem of Hertzberg and Tuohimaa put together a 6-0 mark in MWC play this season to earn doubles recognition. The duo went 2-0 at the top position and 4-0 at the No. 2 spot.

The top-seeded Horned Frogs will open the MWC Championships on Thursday at 2 p.m. CDT against No. 8 Wyoming.
