FORT WORTH – The TCU women’s tennis team’s draw for the 2013 Big 12 Tennis Championships was revealed late Sunday night. The Horned Frogs were given the No. 4 seed and will take on No. 5 seed Oklahoma State Friday at noon at the Headington Family Tennis Center at the University of Oklahoma.
TCU, who finished the regular season with a 17-5 overall record and a 6-3 mark in Big 12 play, earned a win at Oklahoma State on April 12. The Horned Frogs dropped the doubles point, but took wins in five singles matches to clinch a 5-2 victory over the Cowgirls.
A win for TCU would set up a potential Saturday 3 p.m. matchup with the No. 1 seed Baylor, who will face the winner of the eight seed against nine seed matchup between Kansas and Iowa State on Friday. The Lady Bears clinched a share of the regular season title at the top seed with their win over Texas Tech on Sunday. The Horned Frogs were the only team to defeat Baylor in conference play, taking down the Lady Bears with a 4-2 win back on March 27.
The championship match will take place on Sunday at 1 p.m.
