Helena Besovic and
Gloriann Lopez will play their final regular-season home match at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center on Sunday when the 23rd-ranked TCU women's tennis team takes on Washington in a nonconference showdown. Match time for Sunday's contest is scheduled for noon.
The Frogs are coming off a heartbreaking 4-3 loss to No. 10 California on Tuesday. Besovic, ranked 35th in singles play, paced the Horned Frogs with a 7-6(5), 6-3 upset victory versus 21st-ranked Suzi Babos. Besovic also holds the No. 11 ranking in doubles play while paired with freshman Anna Sydorska and the No. 59 spot when teamed with junior Ana Cetnik.
Washington is coming off a 4-3 victory over Washington State on Sunday. The Huskies (2-11 overall) head to Austin on Saturday to take on Texas before making the trip to Fort Worth.
In the all-time series between TCU and Washington, the Frogs boast a 2-0 record. In the last meeting, the Frogs downed the Huskies 6-3 on March 25, 2000.
