COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - TCU junior Macall Harkins was named the Mountain West Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week, the league office announced on Wednesday. The award is the third for Harkins this season, and the fifth honor in the last seven weeks for the Horned Frogs.

Harkins remained hot in singles play over the weekend, winning her fifth contest in the last six matches in TCU's 6-1 rout of Oklahoma. Harkins, a native of Palos Verdes, Calif., posted a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Elena Antakova at the No. 2 singles position to put TCU up 3-0 in the match.

In doubles play, the 12th-ranked duo of Harkins and Anna Sydorska posted an 8-4 win over Ana-Maria Constantinescu and Chelsea Orr at the top spot. The Horned Frog duo is currently 11-2 this season in doubles play. Harkins and Sydorska have defeated four ranked opponents, with one of the two losses coming to the nation's top-ranked tandem from Fresno State.

The women's team will open the MWC regular season this weekend at home, hosting Colorado State, Air Force and Wyoming.
