FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU senior Paty Aburto has been named the Conference USA Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the period ending February 29. This is the fourth time in her career, and the second time this season, that Aburto has claimed the C-USA accolade. She and fellow senior Saber Pierce have both been awarded the honor twice this season.

Aburto swept Oklahoma's Anda Perianu, the fourth-ranked player in the nation last weekend. It marked the highest-ranked player to be defeated by Aburto during her four-year career at TCU. She also defeated No. 70 Daniela Muscolino of Tulsa, 6-3, 6-2, and Purdue's Gretchen Haynor, 6-1, 6-3, at the No. 1 singles spot. Aburto, with partner Karla Mancinas, went 1-1 in doubles play last week, posting an 8-3 victory over Tulsa's team of Donata Majauskaite and Sante Delport, which is ranked No. 43 in the nation.
