FORT WORTH, Texas – The No. 32 TCU women’s tennis team will travel into Big 10 country to challenge No. 8 Michigan Wednesday at the Varsity Tennis Center. The first serve of doubles action is set for 6 p.m. ET, followed by singles action.
The Horned Frogs (1-4) will look to bounce back on the road after suffering three-straight ranked losses at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center. Junior Katariina Tuohimaa, ranked No. 56 in the latest Campbell’s/ITA National Singles rankings, paces the Frogs’ with a 3-2 overall record, highlighted by a pair of top-32 wins.
No. 8 Michigan (6-3) is currently enjoying the second-highest team ranking in program history. Junior Denise Muresan is currently listed at No. 16 in singles after going 6-2 in the first eight matches.
TCU currently holds a 2-1 advantage over Michigan in the all-time series. The Frogs claimed the inaugural battle in 1984 (7-2) and again in 1990 (7-2), while the Wolverines knocked off TCU in 2009, 4-3. Wednesday’s match will serve as the first meeting between the two teams outside of Fort Worth.
