FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU senior Paty Aburto has been named the Conference USA Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the period ending February 15. This is the third time in her career that Aburto has claimed the C-USA honor, earning it once in both her sophomore and junior campaigns. She is the second TCU women's tennis player to garner the honor this year as fellow senior Saber Pierce was named Player of the Week in late January.

Aburto, from Xalapa, Mexico, went 2-0 in singles play, to lead the Horned Frogs to a 1-1 record last week. Her biggest win of the spring came as she battled back from a 6-2 first-set loss to upset No. 47 Maria Ivanov of Tulane, 2-6, 6-2, 6-2, at the No. 1 singles spot. It is Aburto's second win of the year over a ranked opponent. She defeated Wisconsin's Shana McElroy, who was ranked No. 79, at the adidas Invitational on Sept. 27. Aburto also swept SMU's Jenny Langer, 6-1, 6-3, on Feb. 10.
