Babanova and Hertzberg advance in day two of SDSU Fall Classic

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - TCU women's tennis players Maria Babanova and Idunn Hertzberg both won singles matches on Saturday to reach the championship matches of their respective flights at the 2007 SDSU Fall Classic No. 2.
Babanova won her second match of the tournament with a 3-6, 6-3, 6-0 victory over Aleksandra Krsljanin of Washington in the semifinal round. The Moscow, Russia, native will face Rebecca Kwan of UC-Irvine in the championship of singles Flight No. 3.
Hertzberg defeated Julia Trunk of San Diego State by a score of 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 for her second win of the weekend. Hertzberg, a freshman from Oslo, Norway, will meet San Diego State's Holly Bagshaw in the championship of singles Flight No. 1 on Sunday.
Babanova and Hertzberg also teamed up in doubles play to defeat Washington's Wong and Krsljanin by a score of 8-3. The TCU duo will play Bartlett and Borowicz of UC-Irvine in the consolation championship beginning at 9 a.m. on Sunday.
