TCU women's tennis posts two wins at ITA Regional

COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- The TCU women's tennis team collected two doubles victories in the Wilson/ITA Southwest Regional Championships on Friday in College Station, Texas. It was the first day of play for the five-day event. Helena Besovic and Anna Sydorska, seeded 13th in the tournament, posted an 8-2 victory over Ashley Ellis and Sumarie Muller of Texas State. Gloriann Lopez and Andrea Morgado were 8-5 winners against No. 11-seeded Natalia Bubien and Svetlana Kouzmenko. The victory avenged Lopez and Morgado's loss to the SMU duo in September at the Baylor Invitational. Singles play begins Saturday. Besovic, who is ranked 21st in the country and seeded third, is scheduled to face Anete Rozkalne from Texas-Arlington in the first round. Ana Cetnik, ranked 116th and seeded 11th, takes on Alanna Rogers of Rice, while Morgado faces SMU's Jennifer Chay. Lopez will play Iva Velkovska of Southeast Louisiana and Sydorska squares off against Houston's Loli Gomez. Doubles Main Draw
