Frogs Open Play At ITA Southwest Regionals

College Station, Texas - The TCU women's tennis team opened up competition today at the ITA Southwest Regional. In doubles play, three of the four Horned Frog teams advanced to the Round of 32, and freshman Lindsay McBride won a pair of matches in the singles qualifier draw.
McBride opened the tournament with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Margaret Potyrala of Texas State. In the Round of 16, the freshman then defeated the No. 8 seed, Seva Iwinski of Texas A&M 6-2, 3-6, 6-4 to advance. McBride will square off with Kami Miller of Houston in the Round of 16 for a chance to move into the main draw.
In the doubles, senior Paige Brown and freshman Andrea Morgado won their first round match over Avril Martines and Sahara Uriarte of Louisiana Tech 8-2. The pair now has an overall record of 7-1 this season.
Senior Story Tweedie-Yates and freshman Kewa Nichols, the No. 7 seed, moved on with an 8-3 win over Lata Assudani and Mounia Hassib of Sam Houston State. The match was the first time the pair has teamed together this fall.
Play will resume for the Frogs on Saturday morning beginning at 9 am.
