TCU opens with successful showing at The Racquet Club Collegiate Invitational

MIDLAND, Texas - TCU women's tennis players Nina Munch-Soegaard and Kewa Nichols both tallied two singles victories on Friday to reach the quarterfinal round of The Racquet Club Collegiate Invitational.
Munch-Soegaard, a sophomore from Amarillo, Texas, defeated LSU's Tiffany Tucker by a score of 6-3, 4-6, (10-4) in the opening round. Munch-Soegaard followed with a 7-6, 6-4 win over Caren Seenauth of Miami to advance to the quarterfinals.
Nichols opened the tournament with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Baylor's Karolina Filipiak. The Austin, Texas, native scored another straight sets win over Michela Kissell of Miami by a score of 7-6, 7-6.
The two Frogs also competed in the doubles draw together, falling to Miami's Seenauth and Romy Farah, 8-6.
Munch-Soegaard will face Bianca Eichkorn of Miami on Saturday, while Nichols will meet No. 2 Sylvia Kosakowski of Pepperdine in the quarterfinal draw on Saturday.
