Frogs complete prequalifier play at Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships

LOS ANGELES - TCU women's tennis players Ana Cetnik and Kewa Nichols completed prequalifying singles play at the Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships, presented by Fila, Saturday afternoon. Cetnik advanced to the second round after defeating Wake Forest's Christian Tara 6-1, 6-4. In the second round of action, she upended Georgia Tech's Kristen Flower 6-2 in the first set before dropping the final two 6-0, 6-4. Meanwhile, Nichols lost in straight sets (6-4, 7-5) to Julie Smekodub of USC. The premier hard court event of the fall collegiate season, the Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships presented by Fila feature the top players in NCAA Division I tennis. The 64-player qualifying tournament at Riviera begins Oct. 3-4 (where eight players and four doubles teams will advance to the main draw). A full list of TCU players competing in the main draw of singles and doubles action will be announced Monday.
