April 18, 2007 WACO, Texas - The No. 36 TCU women's tennis team was shutout 7-0 by No. 14 Baylor on Wednesday night at the Baylor Tennis Center in TCU's regular season finale. The loss dropped the Horned Frogs to 16-9 overall, while Baylor improved to 18-6 on the season.
"Baylor played really well tonight," said TCU head coach Jefferson Hammond. "They looked as strong as I've ever seen them in my three years here. We fought hard against a very good team tonight."
Baylor's Lenka Broosova and Zuzana Cerna started doubles play with an 8-1 defeat of TCU's Nina Munch-Soegaard and Anna Sydorska at the No. 1 position, while the No. 46 Baylor duo of Iva Mihaylova and Zuzana Zemenova clinched the doubles point with an 8-3 victory over Karine Ionesco and Andrea Morgado.
The duo of Ana Cetnik and Kewa Nichols was able to avoid the doubles sweep with an 8-6 victory over Zuzana Chmelarova and Klara Zrustova at the No. 2 slot. Cetnik and Nichols have won four consecutive doubles matches together.
