ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The No. 24 TCU women's tennis team captured the Mountain West Conference regular season title outright on Sunday with a 7-0 win over No. 55 New Mexico at the Lobo Tennis Club. The Horned Frogs won their 11th consecutive contest to improve to 18-4 overall and finish 8-0 in regular season league play.

"The team completed our goal of going undefeated in the Mountain West Conference," said TCU head coach Jefferson Hammond. "They fought really hard this week with a blue collar attitude and came up big on three straight days. It's really special to be the Mountain West champions. Everybody contributed, and we're really excited about playing the tournament at TCU."

TCU's freshman duo of Idunn Hertzberg and Katariina Tuohimaa led off doubles play with an 8-3 rout of Mackenzie White and Jennifer Ryba at the No. 2 position. Nina Munch-Soegaard and Maria Babanova followed with an 8-6 win over Emma Hayman and Victoria Tessmar at the No. 3 spot to clinch the doubles point for TCU.

Macall Harkins led off singles action with her 12th victory in the last 13 contests, defeating White by a score of 6-3, 6-0.

Munch-Soegaard, ranked No. 63 nationally, posted her second consecutive win over a ranked opponent with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over No. 123 Ola Abou-Zekry at the top spot.

Senior Kewa Nichols clinched the win for TCU with a 6-3, 6-2 defeat of Ryba at the No. 5 position.

Hertzberg would follow at the No. 6 spot with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Maria Sotirchos, while Tuohimaa followed with a win over Hayman by a score of 3-6, 6-2, 10-5.

Anna Sydorska rounded out the scoring for the Frogs with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Lucy Scott at the No. 3 position.

The Frogs will return to action at the MWC Championships held at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center on the campus of TCU beginning on April 23.
