Women's Tennis Blanks UT-Arlington, 5-0

ARLINGTON, Texas - The 29th-ranked TCU women's tennis team ended the regular season with a 5-0 victory over Metroplex-foe UT-Arlington on Wednesday afternoon at the UTA Tennis Center. The win, TCU's 13th in a row, gives the Frogs a 15-6 overall, 1-1 C-USA record. The Lady Mavs fall to 15-5 with the setback. The Frogs swept doubles for the seventh time this year. The No. 32-ranked tandem of senior Saber Pierce and freshman Ana Cetnik won an 8-4 match against Marketa Cizova and Daniela Novakova at No. 1. At two, senior Paty Aburto and junior Karla Mancinas tallied an 8-5 victory over Monika Peciulionyte and Simri van Rooyen. Junior Paige Brown and sophomore Gloriann Lopez defeated Anete Rozkalne and Jitka Vetrocova, 8-6, at three. Only four singles matches were completed with TCU capturing all in straight sets. Aburto, ranked 48th, topped Peciulionyte, 6-3, 6-1 at No. 1, while Pierce defeated Novakova at three (6-2, 6-3) for a team-best 18th win of the spring. At No. 4, Cetnik handed van Rooyen a 6-2, 6-2 loss. Lopez claimed a 6-2, 6-4 victory at No. 6 against Vetrocova. Complete results of the match can be found below. Next up for the Frogs is the 2004 Conference USA Championship held April 15-18 in Louisville, Ky. The University of Louisville is hosting the championship.
