Women's Tennis Falls at Tulsa, 4-3

TULSA, Okla. - The 51st-ranked TCU women's tennis team dropped a 4-3 battle at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on the campus 53rd-ranked Tulsa on Friday evening. The loss puts TCU back at an even 7-7 mark for the season.
The Frogs won the doubles point for the second straight match. The highlight win of the evening came as TCU's 51st-ranked doubles tandem of junior Paty Aburto and senior Rosa Perez upset 30th-ranked Aleksandra Durska and Alicia Pillay, 8-3 at no. 1. The second Frog doubles team of sophomore Karla Mancinas and junior Saber Pierce earned an 8-4 victory over Mariana Barrios and Tiffany Smith.
Tulsa's 24th-ranked Pillay captured the 7-5, 6-4 win at no. 1 over no. 89 Aburto. The two TCU wins came at nos. 4 and 5. Freshman Gloriann Lopez defeated Smith at no. 4 in three-sets, 4-6, 6-2, 6-4, while Mancinas took the straight-set 6-4, 6-2 win at the fifth spot over Zoe Buhagiar.
The Frogs take on Oklahoma State on Saturday, March 29 and Oklahoma on Sunday, March 30. Their next home contests come on April 4 and 5 when they host South Alabama and Rice to close out the home season.
