Final Stats

FORT WORTH, Texas - The No. 37 TCU women's tennis team snapped a three-match skid on Monday night at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center with a 6-1 defeat of Kansas State. The Frogs improved to 8-7 overall, while the Wildcats dropped to 2-8 on the season.

"After a tough road trip, this was a good way to bounce back and get to playing well, as we didn't lose a set tonight," said TCU head coach Jefferson Hammond. "I think our warrior mentality was very helpful tonight."

The Frogs were unable to field a doubles team at the No. 3 position, but managed to grab wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 slots to notch the doubles point. The duo of Ana Cetnik and Nina Munch-Soegaard started with an 8-5 defeat of Kansas State's Viviana Yrureta and Fernanda Da Valle at No. 1. The team of Anna Sydorska and Andrea Morgado hung on for a tough 9-8(5) victory over Olga Klimova and Katerina Kudlackova to clinch the point for TCU.

No. 37 Cetnik put the Frogs ahead 2-1, as the senior downed Tamar Kvaratskhelia, 6-3, 6-2. No. 84 Munch-Soegaard followed, with a 6-3, 6-2 defeat of Da Valle at the No. 2 position. Nichols clinched the win for the Frogs as the junior defeated Kudlackova, 7-6(5), 6-2.

Andrea Morgado would go on to notch a 6-4, 7-5 victory over Klimova, while No. 104 Sydorska finished the match with a 7-6(2), 6-2 victory over Yrureta in the No. 1 slot.

The women will return to the courts on Friday night at 5 p.m. when they will play host to No. 24 VCU.
