Final Stats

FRESNO, Calif. - The No. 37 TCU women's tennis team lost another heartbreaker on Thursday to No. 14 Fresno State, 4-3, at the Wathen Tennis Center. The loss dropped the Frogs to 7-6 overall on the season, while improving the Bulldogs to 8-2.

"Fresno State played really well in doubles, and we realized at the break that we had to pick up our intensity," said TCU head coach Jefferson Hammond. "I was incredibly proud of our fight and how we were able to win three of the five singles matches, but unfortunately it wasn't enough today. I'm looking forward to another battle on Saturday against California."

The No. 54 duo of Renata Kucerkova and Anastasia Petukhova of Fresno State was able to clinch the doubles point with an 8-4 defeat of TCU's Nina Munch-Soegaard and Kewa Nichols. The Bulldogs swept the doubles event when Melanie Gloria and Tinesta Rowe teamed up to down the No. 7 duo of Ana Cetnik and Anna Sydorska, 8-3, at the No. 1 position.

Fresno State began singles action with victories at the No. 2 and No. 1 positions to clinch the match. No. 59 Kucerkova put the Bulldogs up 3-0 after a 6-0, 6-4 defeat of No. 37 Cetnik.
