Women's Tennis Drops 4-3 Match at Pepperdine

MALIBU, Calif. - The 30th-ranked TCU women's tennis team dropped a 4-3 battle against no. 48 Pepperdine on Tuesday at the Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center. The loss moves TCU's record to an even 4-4, while Pepperdine goes to 6-6.
The Frogs took the early lead by winning the doubles point. At no. 1, junior Paty Aburto and senior Rosa Perez claimed an 8-3 win over Monika Horvath and Charlotte Vernaz. The second doubles team of sophomore Karla Mancinas and junior Saber Pierce picked up the 8-6 victory against Merve Asimgil and Veronica Koskova.
TCU won the no. 6 singles match as the Waves had to forfeit. Perez was the lone Frog to claim a singles win, as she defeated Koskova at no. 3, 4-1 retired. Pepperdine won the match when Karin Schlapbach playing no. 4 topped Mancinas 4-6, 6-4, 6-0 in three sets.
The California road trip continues for the Frogs with matches against San Diego State and the University of San Diego on Friday and Saturday, March 14 and 15, respectively.
