Women's tennis falls 4-3 to Harvard

MADISON, Wis. -- The No. 16 TCU women's tennis team dropped a 4-3 decision to 19th-ranked Harvard on Saturday in Madison, Wis., in the quarterfinals of the ITA National Team Indoor Championships. The Horned Frogs dropped to 2-1 on the season, while the Crimson moved to 3-0. TCU won the doubles point, winning first at the No. 3 position where Gloriann Lopez and Andrea Morgado downed Beier Ko and Preethi Mukundan 8-2. Ana Cetnik and Karine Ionesco provided the clinching point with an 8-5 victory over Stephanie Schnitter and Eva Wang at three doubles. Mukundan won 6-2, 6-4 versus TCU's Kewa Nichols at five singles to tie the match up at 1-1. Cetnik put the Frogs back in front 2-1 when she topped Ko at the No. 3 slot 7-5, 6-2. Besovic gave TCU a commanding 3-1 advantage with a 6-0, 4-6, 6-3 triumph at one singles against Wang. The Crimson won the remaining three matches, starting with Melissa Anderson's 6-4, 6-0 win versus Ionesco at four. Elsa O'Riain was the next to win at No. 2 singles over Anna Sydorska in three sets 6-1, 0-6, 6-3. Schnitter provided a 6-0, 6-3 victory against Morgado at the sixth spot to end the match.
