Dec. 14, 2007

FORT WORTH, Texas - For the second consecutive year the TCU women's soccer program was recognized by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America as the organization rewarded the Horned Frogs with the NSCAA Team Academic Award.

"I think for us this type of award shows that the kids have really excelled and made the commitment to excel in every avenue of their life," said head coach Dan Abdalla. "The fact that they have received this honor for a couple of years now shows the type of atmosphere within our program and what the expectations are internally."

TCU, who posted an overall GPA of 3.27, was one of 299 universities to receive the award.

To be eligible for the NSCAA Team Academic Award a team must have a team GPA of at least 3.0 for the 2006-07 academic year.

The Horned Frogs finished the 2007 season with an 8-11-0 record.
