Nickens receives honorable mention honors for The Coach Wooden Citizenship Cup

FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU senior Angie Nickens recently received honorable mention accolades by a vote of judges for her nomination for The Coach Wooden Citizenship Cup.
Presented annually to two distinguished athletes - one intercollegiate and one professional - The Coach Wooden Citizenship Cup establishes the recipients as athletes of excellence both on and off the field, and as role models as athletes and people.
A native of Dallas, Texas, Nickens was nominated for her leadership, exemplary work ethic, dedication to the community and play on the field.
In addition to her play on the field, where she has made 37 starts and posted 12 points, Nickens has devoted numerous hours to the community in many different ways such as participating in Relay for Life, Habitat for Humanity, and volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House.
The finalists for The Coach Wooden Citizenship Cup are Kandia Batchelor, Florida State University, Parker Dalton, Texas A&M University, Anna Key, University of California, Eric LeRoux, Princeton University, and Carl Pendleton, University of Oklahoma.
After redshirting in 2006 due to injury, Nickens will return for her senior season in 2007.
