Horned Frogs and Utes to battle on senior night

FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU soccer program will close out its home season on Friday with a match against Mountain West foe Utah. Start time for the contest against the Utes is set for 7 p.m. at Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium. Friday's match will mark the final home game for five seniors: Angie Nickens, Lauren Pope, Lesley Parkinson, KJ Brozena and Kim Thompson. Last Thursday, Utah (10-2-4) opened conference play, upending Air Force, 2-1, in overtime. The Utes closed out the weekend with a 0-0 tie against New Mexico. The match against the Lobos marked the seventh overtime contest this fall for Utah.
Scouting TCU (7-9-0) On offense, Jackie Torda leads the Horned Frog attack, connecting on nine goals, while also tallying three assists. Sophomore Michelle Nguyen has had a solid sophomore campaign, netting five goals and four assists.
Scouting UTAH (10-2-4) Overall, Utah has held an opponent off the scoreboard in six matches this fall. The Utes, who will bring a No 22 Soccer Buzz ranking into Friday's contest, are 2-0-2 in Mountain West play.
The Utes are led on offense by Adele Letro, who has netted 16 goals on the year and currently ranks No. 3 in the nation in goals per game (1.07). She also ranks No. 5 in the nation in points per game (2.33).
The Series Friday's match against Utah will mark the fourth meeting between the two conference schools. The Utes lead the series 2-1-0. Last season, Utah upended TCU 4-0 last fall in Salt Lake City. TCU holds a 1-0-0 lead at home against Utah. The Horned Frogs won 2-1 over the Utes in 1997.

Seniors Last Stand Finally, this group of seniors has collected a total of 40 wins from 2003 to 2007, including a 7-9-0 mark this fall, which marks the best record since 2003.
