FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU soccer program will close out its home season on Friday with a match against Mountain West foe Utah. Start time for the contest against the Utes is set for 7 p.m. at Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium.
Friday's match will mark the final home game for five seniors: Angie Nickens, Lauren Pope, Lesley Parkinson, KJ Brozena and Kim Thompson.
Last Thursday, Utah (10-2-4) opened conference play, upending Air Force, 2-1, in overtime. The Utes closed out the weekend with a 0-0 tie against New Mexico. The match against the Lobos marked the seventh overtime contest this fall for Utah.
Scouting TCU (7-9-0)
TCU (7-9-0) comes into this Friday's match having dropped its last two contests by a combined score of 2-0. The Horned Frogs, who are currently 5-3-0 at Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium, opened last week, falling to Wyoming, 1-0. TCU came back home on Sunday and suffered a 1-0 overtime setback to UNLV.
On offense, Jackie Torda leads the Horned Frog attack, connecting on nine goals, while also tallying three assists. Sophomore Michelle Nguyen has had a solid sophomore campaign, netting five goals and four assists.
Scouting UTAH (10-2-4)
Utah (10-2-4) comes into Friday's match having not lost since falling to the University of Colorado on Sept. 6. The Utes are 4-2-3 on the road this fall and bring a 10-2-4 record into this Friday's match.
Overall, Utah has held an opponent off the scoreboard in six matches this fall. The Utes, who will bring a No 22 Soccer Buzz ranking into Friday's contest, are 2-0-2 in Mountain West play.
The Utes are led on offense by Adele Letro, who has netted 16 goals on the year and currently ranks No. 3 in the nation in goals per game (1.07). She also ranks No. 5 in the nation in points per game (2.33).
The Series
Friday's match against Utah will mark the fourth meeting between the two conference schools. The Utes lead the series 2-1-0.
Last season, Utah upended TCU 4-0 last fall in Salt Lake City.
TCU holds a 1-0-0 lead at home against Utah. The Horned Frogs won 2-1 over the Utes in 1997.

Seniors Last Stand
Friday's match against Utah will mark the end of the line for five seniors at Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium. Overall, Angie Nickens, Lesley Parkinson, Lauren Pope, KJ Brozena and Kim Thompson will be on the sidelines at home for the final time of their career.
Finally, this group of seniors has collected a total of 40 wins from 2003 to 2007, including a 7-9-0 mark this fall, which marks the best record since 2003.
Nickens Finishes Up Long Career
Senior Angie Nickens will put an end to her long career at Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium this Friday night. Nickens, who's career spans back to 2003, has played in a total of 70 matches at TCU, while netting six goals from her defensive position.
TCU In The Mountain West
So far during Mountain West play, freshman forward Jackie Torda is first in the MWC standings for shots (16) and fourth in shots per game (3.20). Michelle Nguyen currently ranks fourth in goals during conference action with three.
As a team, TCU ranks third in the MWC in goals (5), first in shots (75) and fifth in assists (3). On defense, TCU is currently second in saves (27).
Inching Closer to Record Books
Entering tonight's contest against Utah, TCU freshman Jackie Torda only needs one more goal to tie for fifth all-time on the single season goal total with 10 and sixth on the single season points total with 23. Sophomore Michelle Nguyen only needs two more assists on the year to tie for third all-time in single season assists.
Next Opponent
TCU will closeout regular season action on Nov. 2 against San Diego State at the SDSU Sports Deck. Start time is set for 3 p.m. (PT).
