In its final home match of the season, the TCU soccer team will welcome Texas for a 1 p.m. start at Garvey-Rosenthal Stadium. Prior to the game, the Horned Frogs will honor senior Monica Alvarado
TCU'S LAST TIME OUT
The Horned Frogs battled to a 1-1 double overtime tie with Texas Tech Friday night. Monica Alvarado scored the game-tying goal with just over a minute to go in regulation. Vittoria Arnold allowed a first-half goal, but locked down the fort the rest of the way. She made a career-high with 12 saves in the match.
TEXAS' LAST TIME OUT
The Longhorns lost a highly-contested 2-1 double overtime match at Baylor Firday night. Baylor broke a scoreless tie in the 80th minute only to see Texas' Sharis Lachappelle score the equalizer in the 89th minute to send the match to overtime. Baylor pulled off the win with a goal halfway through the second overtime. Longhorn goalkeeper Abby Smith made five saves in the loss.
TCU and Texas will be meeting for the 13th time on Sunday. The series is dead even as both teams have won six of the previous 12 meetings. TCU is 5-3-0 all-time against Texas in Fort Worth. The Longhorns have won each of the last three matches that have been played in Fort Worth.
The Frogs have had the most recent success, snapping a six-match losing streak to the Longhorns with a 2-1 win in Austin on Aug. 21, 2009. Jordan Calhoun scored in the 85th minute to defeat the 15th-ranked Longhorns for TCU's first-ever win in Austin.
