Soccer travels to Laramie

FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU soccer program continues conference action with matches against Wyoming on Friday and UNLV on Sunday. Start time for the contest against the Cowgirls is set for 3 p.m. (MT) at the Louis S. Madrid Sports Complex in Laramie, Wyo., while the match against the Rebels will begin at 1 p.m. at Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium. Last Friday, Wyoming (6-7-0) opened conference play, dropping a 1-0 match to New Mexico. The Cowgirls picked up their first conference win on Sunday with a 2-0 decision over Air Force. UNLV (6-3-5) comes into this Sunday's match having upended San Diego State, 1-0, on Oct. 14. The Rebels opened Mountain West Conference play tying Utah, 2-2.
Scouting TCU (7-7-0) On offense, Jackie Torda leads the Horned Frog attack, connecting on nine goals, while also tallying three assists. Sophomore Michelle Nguyen has had a solid sophomore campaign, netting five goals and four assists.
Scouting Wyoming (6-7-0) Overall, Wyoming has shut out three different opponents, including one conference foe in Air Force. Finally, the Pokes have been blanked six times by their opponent and lost three-straight to end the month of September. The Cowgirls' duo of Amanda Lathrop and Tamika Wilson have netted 13 of the UW's 19 goals this fall.
Scouting UNLV (6-3-5)
Overall, UNLV has played five double overtime matches this fall, including a double overtime 2-2 draw to Utah to open conference action. The Rebels are led on offense by Katie Carney, who has posted five goals and four assists on the season.
The Series Last season, TCU and the Pokes played to a 1-1 draw in Fort Worth. Sunday's matchup against UNLV is the fourth meeting between the two Mountain West Conference opponents. The Rebels hold a 3-0-0 record against the Horned Frogs.

A Year Of First
Inching Closer To Record Books Sophomore Michelle Nguyen only need two more assists on the year to tie for third all-time in single season assists.
The Jack Attack Overall, Torda leads the Horned Frogs with nine goals on the season and currently ranks third in the MWC in goals and goals per game. Finally, Torda is also currently tied for 40th overall in the NCAA in goals per game (.643).
TCU In The Mountain West As a team, TCU ranks second in the MWC in goals (23), first in shots (237) and second in assists (16). On defense, TCU is currently first in saves (84).
