The TCU women's soccer team will play its final regular season road match Sunday afternoon at No. 9 West Virginia. Match time against the league-leading Mountaineers is set for 11:30 a.m.
TCU'S LAST TIME OUT
TCU handed Kansas a 1-0 loss in Lawrence on Friday night to improve its Big 12 record to 1-2-1. Kelly Johnson scored the match's lone goal in the 18th minute on a corner kick feed from Makenzie Koch. Vittoria Arnold notched her second consecutive shutout with three saves. For Arnold, it was her fourth shutout of the season and the 12th of her career.
WEST VIRGINIA'S LAST TIME OUT
West Virginia took a 2-0 victory over Iowa State Friday night at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium, running its win streak to six straight games. The Mountaineers are 4-0 in Big 12 play and 10-2-2 overall. Frances Silva and Kate Schwindel each notched goals for West Virginia, while goalkeeper Sara Keane picked up her fifth shutout of the saeson with a four-save performance.
The series between West Virginia and TCU is just one year old as the two school's had never met prior to becoming conference mates in 2012. West Virginia took the first meeting between the schools with a 2-1 win at Garvey-Rosenthal on Sept. 28, 2012.
The Horned Frogs exacted revenge in the first round of the Big 12 Championships in San Antonio, notching a 2-0 win over the conference champion Mountaineers. Bobbi Clemmer assisted on goals from Monica Alvarado and Kelly Johnson, while Arnold made six saves to record the shutout.
