TCU set to host Wyoming and face UNLV on the road this weekend
Oct. 11, 2006 FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU soccer team continues play in the Mountain West Conference this weekend with a home match against Wyoming on Friday and a road match at UNLV on Sunday. TCU (5-6-2, 0-1-1 MWC) will host the Cowgirls (6-5-2, 1-0-1 MWC) on Friday in a 7 p.m. match at Garvey-Rosenthal Stadium. Friday's match will mark TCU's third straight home match. On Sunday, TCU will travel to Las Vegas, Nev., to face UNLV at 3 p.m. at Peter Johann Memorial Field. Friday's match will be webcast on www.GoFrogs.com and can also be heard on 88.7 KTCU. R.J. Choppy of 103.3 ESPN will handle the play-by-play and former TCU soccer player Jackie Rodriguez will provide the analysis. The Horned Frogs will be bidding for their first conference win of the season after falling to No. 11/15 BYU, 2-0, and tying New Mexico, 0-0, last week. Friday's match is Camper Day, where kids can get into the match for free if they wear their TCU soccer camp shirt. In addition, all fans in attendance receive Sara Schneider trading cards. The meeting between TCU and Wyoming will mark the first time the Cowgirls have visited Fort Worth in four previous meetings. TCU is 2-2-0 all-time against Wyoming, with the Cowgirls taking a 2-0 win last season. Against UNLV on Sunday, TCU will be bidding for its first-ever win over the Rebels, with UNLV taking both all-time meetings last season. UNLV defeated TCU 1-0 in Fort Worth and 3-0 in the MWC Tournament in Las Vegas last season.
