Road Trip Starts at Iowa State Friday Night

FORT WORTH – The TCU soccer team embarks on a three-match road swing beginning Friday night at Iowa State. First kick against the Cyclones is set for 7 p.m. at the Cyclone Sports Complex.
FOLLOW THE FROGS
Makenzie Koch scored her first non-penalty kick goal of the season against West Virginia. Koch now leads the team with 11 total points (three goals and five assists).
The Horned Frogs rallied from a two-goal deficit on Sunday to force overtime against Kansas. They eventually dropped a 3-2 decision in double overtime. Lindsy Schafer and Serena Smith-Banas scored their first career goals to help the Frogs force overtime. Vittoria Arnold made 10 saves in the two games and has made 47 on the season. Her .810 save percentage ranks fourth in the league. Kelly Johnson tallied two assists on the weekend and has a two-match point streak. She assisted on Koch’s goal against West Virginia and on Smith-Banas’ tying goal against Kansas.
IOWA STATE NOTABLES
The Cyclones have started Big 12 play 0-3 with loss to Texas, No. 17 Oklahoma State and Texas Tech. The loss to Oklahoma State was a heartbreaker as the Cowgirls scored the lone goal of the game in the 13th minute on a penalty kick. Iowa State has potential to score goals as it has scored seven goals in a game twice this season (vs. UNI and vs. South Dakota).
The Cyclones are led offensively by Jennifer Dominguez, who has scored seven goals on the season. Ashley Johnson is the assist leader with five. Andrea Swanson has taken over the goalkeeper duties, starting each of the last four matches. She is 2-2-0 with a shutout and a .690 save percentage.

STINGY DEFENSE TCU has allowed just 13 goals in 12 matches this season. The 13 goals allowed is tied for second in the Big 12. Only Baylor has allowed fewer goals, surrendering five in its first 13 contests.
