TCU Wraps Up Homestand Friday

FORT WORTH - The TCU Horned Frogs will look to close out their four-match homestand on a winning note Friday night when they host Houston Baptist. First kick is set for 7 p.m. at Garvey Rosenthal Stadium. FOLLOW THE HORNED FROGS

Alicen Wright made her season debut on Friday and made five saves in a tough-luck 2-1 loss to the Mustangs. Brittany Slyman and Koch briefly tied Monica Alvarado for the team lead in goals, but it was short lived as Alvarado notched her third in the second half against Texas State. Katie Ostrander, Serena Smith-Banas and Caroline Patel made their collegiate debuts on Sunday. HOUSTON BAPTIST NOTABLES Natalie Hager, the team's leading goal scorer with five, potted a pair of goals in the win over NWLA. Lindsay Matlock knotted the game at one in the 74th minute on Sunday, picking up her first goal of the season. Shelby Horn tallied 13 saves and allowed just two goals in the two matches this past weekend. ON TARGET She notched her team-leading fourth assist on Sunday, feeding the ball to Brittany Slyman for what proved to be the game winner. She added an insurance goal later in the half, converting on another penalty kick. In addition to her scoring touch, Koch is the go-to person to take corner kicks. She has taken 26 of 31 (84%) corners this season. On the season, Koch has four assists, which is tied for the most in the Big 12. Her average of 0.57 assists per game tops the league. STINGY DEFENSE A WHITEWASH SERIES HISTORY - HOUSTON BAPTIST Three of the four meetings have come in Fort Worth, the lone exception coming last year when they played at HBU. The Frogs took a 3-0 victory over the Huskies on Sept. 25, 2011. In the last meeting in Fort Worth, TCU won 5-2 on Oct. 3, 2010.
