With the victory, TCU moved to 2-0-0 on the year for the first time since 1999. The Horned Frogs battled Southeastern Conference opponent Ole Miss to a 2-2 draw on Sunday afternoon at Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium.

Scouting Arizona State
The Arizona State women's soccer team lost its first contest of the season this past Sunday, dropping a 2-1 match to San Diego State. After falling behind early, ASU came back to tie the contest only to see the Aztecs score the go-ahead goal in the final three minutes. Last Friday, the Sun Devils played Pepperdine to a 1-1 tie.

Karin Volpe leads the ASU attack, finding the back of the net three times during the early portion of the season. Overall, the Sun Devils' lone win of the 2008 season has come against Northern Arizona. Arizona State upended the Lumberjacks, 4-2, to open the season. ASU brings a 1-1-1 record into action this weekend.

Scouting Northern Arizona
Northern Arizona comes into this weekend with a 1-2-1 record. The Lumberjacks are coming off a 9-1 dismantling of Embry-Riddle this past Sunday. The win over the NAIA power marked the first victory of the 2008 season for NAU as they have fell to Arizona State and UC Irvine.

The game against TCU will be the second match against a Mountain West Conference foe this season for Northern Arizona. The Lumberjacks played New Mexico to a 1-1 draw on Aug. 24. Cee Cee Odorfer leads the Lumberjacks with three goals and three assists on the year. She missed the 2007 season due to injury and was recently named Big Sky Player of the Week.

Calhoun Honored By Soccer Buzz
TCU freshman forward Jordan Calhoun was selected to the Soccer Buzz Elite Team of the Week on Wednesday.

With the selection, Calhoun became only the second TCU player in the program's history to be named to Soccer Buzz's Elite Team of the Week. Goalkeeper Kelsey Walters earned team of the week honors last fall following a 3-0 shutout of Utah.

Series Records
TCU and Arizona State faced off against each other last fall. In the match, goalkeeper Kelsey Walters stopped five shots, including four in the first half, but it wasn't enough as Arizona State snapped TCU's three-match win streak at home with a 2-0 victory at Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium.

NAU and TCU have never met before on the field.

In the Rankings
TCU attained its highest national regional ranking of the 2008 season this week in Soccer Buzz magazine's Central Region rankings at No. 14.

Overall, the TCU women help round out the women's top 15 at No. 14, led by junior Lizzy Karoly and freshman Jordan Calhoun.

The central region consists of 69 teams. The No. 14 ranking is the highest ranking for TCU since 1999.

Horned Frogs Selected Again By MWC
TCU freshman forward Jordan Calhoun was selected as the Mountain West Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday. The selection for the Purple and White marked the second-straight week in which TCU has had a representative as a Player of the Week. TCU's Lizzy Karoly and Kelsey Walters were named Mountain West Conference Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week last week.

Calhoun, a native of Norman, Okla., netted two goals, including a turning half-volley as time expired in the first half, in a 3-0 win over Xavier on Friday. With the two-goal performance, Calhoun became the first freshman in TCU program history to net back-to-back two-goal outings in the first two games of a career. Against SEC opponent Ole Miss on Sunday, Calhoun scored TCU's final goal of the game, sending the game into overtime, which ultimately resulted in a 2-2 tie.
