FORT WORTH, Texas - The following are quotes from head coach Dan Abdalla and players following TCU's 3-0 win over Xavier Friday night.
Dan Abdalla "I thought we were much more organized. It was a physical game and I thought our girls handled it well." "I think the nice thing is that we have three or four girls on this team that can score at anytime. I was very happy with the number of scoring opportunities we created. I think it is kind of like a domino effect because everyone is going to open someone else up to score." "It was a huge boost to have Michelle Nguyen back on the field tonight. I was extremly impressed with her attitude and willingness to get back on the field. I think that shows the mentality of this team in that players want to get back on the field and compete." "I thought Kelsey Walters did a good job of controlling the backline and communicating with the team tonight. She came up with a couple of saves that we needed her to. She is playing with a lot of confidence and the team knows that."
Lizzy Karoly "Jordan is amazing and is awesome to have up top. I know she is always going to be in the box, so I am always looking for her. She is just an amazing player."
Caroline Starns "We are really excited, but we can't get too excited because its only the first two games. If we keep the momentum going and stay focused, working on everything we need to in practice, then I think the sky is the limit."
Jackie Torda "Our defense has been solid and we really can't ask for much more then a shutout, but also our attack has improved so much from last year, which helps out a lot. Overall, it looks promising for a good year."
