FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU junior forward Lizzy Karoly and sophomore goalkeeper Kelsey Walters were selected as the Mountain West Conference Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week on Monday.

Karoly, a native of Escondido, Calif., netted two goals and an assist in a 5-0 win over 2007 NCAA qualifier Stephen F. Austin this past weekend. Overall, the returning all-conference performer led the MWC in points and became the first Horned Frog under head coach Dan Abdalla to score two goals in a season opener.

Walters, an Oklahoma City, Okla., native, shut out Stephen F. Austin in a 5-0 win. She played all 90 minutes against the 2007 NCAA Tournament participant and made six saves, while posting the fourth shutout of her career.

TCU, who is 1-0-0 on the year, will take on Xavier on Friday at home. Start time for the match is set for 7 p.m. at Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium.
