Fort Worth, Texas - The TCU Women's Soccer team posted a 12-0 shutout of cross-town Texas Wesleyan in its first exhibition game of the season. Jessi Moore (Jr., Grapevine, Texas) recorded a hat trick and picked up two assists in her first action as a Frog, while five other newcomers recorded at least one point in the rout.

Freshman Ashley Fortune (Bothell, Wash.) got the Frogs on the board in the 15th minute on a cross from Kelly Potysman (Jr., Fort Worth, Texas) that she buried in the back of the net for a 1-0 lead. Eight minutes later, Moore gave TCU a 2-0 advantage as she beat Wesleyan goalkeeper Katrina Fishback in the back corner.

The most devastating blow for Wesleyan came in the 26th minute as Potysman crossed the ball into the goalie box and off the head of a Wesleyan defender and into the back of the net, pushing the TCU advantage to 3-0. The Horned Frogs kept pouring on the offense and by halftime had a 5-0 lead.

The Frogs kicked off the second half in the same manner as the first, as Ginny Hubbard (Fr., Fort Worth, Texas) connected six minutes, pushing the lead to 6-0. Over the next 10 minutes, TCU scored three more times, including goals from Moran Lavi (So., Ra'Anana, Israel), Cara Toulouse (Jr., Fort Worth, Texas), and Jessica Walters (So., Austin, Texas).

Moore capped off her hat trick in the 82nd minute as she intercepted a Wesleyan pass and beat the goalkeeper one-on-one and gave the Frogs an 11-0 lead. Fortune ended the scoring a minute and a half later as she buried her second goal of the game in the back of the net. Also scoring for TCU were Elizabeth Walsh (So., Dallas, Texas) and Jenny Swanson (Sr., Tacoma, Wash.).

The Horned Frogs spent most of the match in the offensive zone, holding Wesleyan to just one shot. Jennifer Sims (Fr., The Colony, Texas) and Katie Buchanan (Fr., Plano, Texas) each played a half between the pipes, but only Buchanan faced any kind of attack from Wesleyan.

Offensively, the Frogs collected 41 shots, 24 of which were on goal. Wesleyan starting goalkeeper Katrina Fishback made eight saves in the first half.

The Horned Frogs traveled to Wichita Falls on Sunday for another exhibition match against Midwestern State. TCU won the match 2-0 to wrap up the exhibition portion of the schedule undefeated. The Frogs kick off the regular season August 29 in College Station, Texas against No. 6 Texas A&M.
