FORT WORTH, Texas - With the 2008 season only about a month away, GoFrogs.com recently sat down with TCU sophomore defender Julia Slater to get her thoughts on the Horned Frogs in 2008.
What are you doing this summer for the upcoming season?
"I'm participating in a three days a week Speed Agility Quickness Program. We work on footwork, conditioning, core strength, power building and speed. I also play pick-up games twice a week with other college athletes, both guys and girls, to help with my quickness and aggression."
What do you expect this season from the team?
"If we play to our potential and play with consistency, I expect an extremely successful season. We have an exceptional core group of players and a talented incoming freshman class that will contribute to our success."
What do you like to do off the field?
"I like to hang out with my family, friends, watch movies, dance and eat."
If you could be on a television show for one day, what would it be and why?
"I always thought it'd be cool to be on Project Runway. It'd be fun to get creative and design really funky outfits."
Who is you favorite soccer player and why?
"I used to love watching Michelle Akers play. She was such an inspirational player and she always played with intensity and heart."
If you could play any sport other then soccer, what would it be and why?
"I think it'd be fun to try volleyball. I like that it's a high scoring, fast-paced game. I really enjoy playing sand volleyball during the summer with my friends."
How excited are you for this season?
"I cannot wait for this season. I'm looking forward to proving ourselves and hopefully coming out of the season with a ring."
